UPMC Hamot Archive
The UPMC Hamot Archive is a repository for all the archival and historical records that document UPMC Hamot’s history, both as a medical institution that has achieved national recognition and as an integral part of the Erie community.
Mission Statement
The mission of the UPMC Hamot Archives is to identify, collect, preserve and provide access to non-medical hospital records, personal papers of enduring value from medical center administrators and staff, and other documentation of the professional and social history of the medical center from its founding in 1881 to the present for the use of medical center staff and associates, scholars and the general public.
Collections
The UPMC Hamot Archive contains documents that relate to the medical center itself, UPMC Hamot Aid Society and Hamot Hospital School of Nursing. The archive includes bylaws, articles of incorporation, meeting minutes, annual reports, official institutional publications and press releases, directories, financial reports and statements, property deeds, blueprints, policy and procedure manuals, employee handbooks, photographs, slides, video and other media.
Hamot's 125th Anniversary
Hamot celebrated its 125th anniversary on July 1, 2006. As part of the 125th celebration, a commemorative history book titled Hamot:125 years of History is now available in the UPMC Hamot gift shop. All proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the UPMC Hamot Aid Society.
