Library Services

Library Services at UPMC Hamot provides access to the most effective, responsive and up-to-date information services possible in support of patient care, management, research and the educational needs of the UPMC Hamot Health Foundation staff. The library also serves as a regional information resource center to health care professionals and students in northwestern Pennsylvania.

UPMC Hamot's library provides traditional library resources of printed books and journals as well as anatomical and electronic databases. The library network is an integrated tool designed to provide broad access to digital biomedical information resources, newer forms of on-line publications, bibliographic databases and other on-line databases and information.

Literature searching and training of web-based health databases is offered to professionals and students in medicine, nursing, allied health and biomedical fields. The library provides users with a comprehensive array of information resources, research services and strategies, and offers individual consultation customized to meet their needs.

The UPMC Hamot staff may borrow materials that are not available internally. Students affiliated with UPMC Hamot are requested to utilize their associated university library for extensive interlibrary loan borrowing.
