2 Intensive Care Unit

2 ICU is a 28- bed trauma/surgical ICU caring for trauma, open-heart surgery and general surgery patients. Patients benefit from a collaborative approach to their care that entails daily interdisciplinary rounds involving nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, PT/OT, care management, and clinical coordinators. Daily goals are established for each patient to facilitate the care plan and to effectively move the patient through the healing process.

The unit operates under a shared governance leadership model.

2 ICU has a 16-week individualized orientation plan that includes weekly meetings with the preceptor, Clinical Nurse Specialist and new employees. Upon completion of orientation, continuing education is offered and encouraged on an ongoing basis.
