Biography:
Charles M. Furr, MD, brings nearly 30 years of expertise and leadership to the Hamot Heart Institute. Dr. Furr joined Hamot after completing his cardiac fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1976.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Furr has held numerous leadership positions at Hamot, including president and vice-president of the Medical Staff. He also has served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Hamot and the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Furr is a certified member of the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, American College of Cardiology, Erie County Medical Society and the American Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Furr’s special interests include coronary interventions, treatment of congestive heart failure and lipid disorders. During his 30 years at Hamot, he has performed more than 20,000 coronary angiograms.
In his free time, Dr. Furr enjoys playing the piano, listening to classical music, golf, reading and traveling.
