The trauma physicians are always available for phone consultation to discuss diagnostic tests and interventions, or to discuss transferring patients to UPMC Hamot.
The Trauma Clinic is designed to ensure that all victims of trauma have appropriate follow-up care after their initial evaluation and hospital stay. While the majority of the patients who visit the clinic have been victims of trauma who were admitted to UPMC Hamot for their trauma care, the clinic also sees patients who were screened in the Emergency Department and discharged. The clinic accepts patients who are referred as outpatients for further evaluation of their trauma.
Because victims of trauma require many different services to care for their injuries, the trauma clinic is critical in post-hospital care. The physicians who run the clinic not only make sure that the patient is doing well, but also ensure that the patient has the appropriate follow-up appointments. Likewise, any outpatient tests required will be arrange and checked by the clinic.
If you have questions about the clinic or need to schedule an appointment, call 814-877-4577. After hours you may leave your name and number and someone from the clinic will call you back the following business day to schedule an appointment.
